Community Partnership formed.

Writer: smithkengsmithkeng

NWS have announced their decision to form a community partnership

Their choice of name for the new group is almost as comic as it is misleading. At present there is only one member who comes from "the affected community." Even the two council representatives live 30 and 50 miles from the site. As for partnership, NWS pay the chair and the ,so called independent facilitator. NWS have written the recruitment criteria for potential members. To be a true partnership their has to be a level of equality but to quote George Orwell "everyone is equal but the pigs are more equal than others."

In truth this cannot be considered either a community based project or a partnership

Can we really expect honesty and integrity?? There’s too much at stake… ignore the opposition, and just force it through. Have the public ever had a voice ?

Both councils say that "There is no direct benefit to the council in this proposal" That means that there may indeed be a benefit to the council but it doesn't come in the form of a cash handout. For example both councils make donations to charitable organisations. if they can shift those grants on to the NWS gra…
